Free Printable Checkers Board
Sometimes nothing beats a real board on the kitchen table. This page gives you a clean 8x8 checkers board sized to fill a sheet of paper - print it, grab a handful of counters, and you are ready for a game away from the screen.
The layout below matches a standard American and English draughts board: 64 squares, with a dark square in each player's bottom-left corner. Hit the print button and it will fill the page without any of the site's menus or text.
How to use your printed board
- Print the board on a sheet of A4 or Letter paper. For a sturdier board, glue it to card.
- You need 24 discs - 12 of one colour and 12 of another. Coins, buttons, bottle caps or paper circles all work.
- Set 12 pieces each on the dark squares of the three rows nearest each player. The two middle rows start empty.
- The darker side moves first, one square diagonally forward. Jump to capture, and crown a king on the far row.
Boards for other variants
This 8x8 board also fits Pool, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Czech, Brazilian and Anti-Checkers - only the rules differ, not the board. International Draughts is played on a larger 10x10 board with 20 pieces a side, and Canadian Checkers uses a 12x12 board. To play those over the board, you can rule up a bigger grid by hand, or simply play them here against the computer.
